Kumiai Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. has been recognized as one of the “2026 Outstanding Organizations of KENKO Investment for Health (Large Corporation Category)" by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Nippon Kenko Kaigi (Japan Health Council) on March 9, 2026.

◆Background to the initiatives related to “health management and work-life balance”

One of the important policies of the Medium-Term Business Plan (FY2024–2026) is “Human capital development / Human capital strategy based on the idea of human capital.” We have implemented the action plan, which was formulated based on the vision for the human capital strategy. In April 2024, we published a declaration of KENKO Investment for Health to promote health management and work-life balance. Furthermore, we have identified our ideal state and have been working to establish a system and infrastructure related to health management.

◆We have been recognized as one of the “2026 Outstanding Organizations of KENKO Investment for Health”

The Outstanding Organization of KENKO Investment for Health Recognition Program is a program that commends corporations evaluated and certified by the Nippon Kenko Kaigi as organizations that practice particularly excellent health and productivity management.

In April 2024, we announced the declaration of KENKO Investment for Health. We believe that the physical and mental health of our employees is the driving force behind our company. We have established a health management action plan regarding 5 items: "Support for treating illnesses and balancing treatment with work," "Mental health measures," "Improvement of lifestyle habits," "Smoking cessation measures," and "Promotion of work-life balance," and have been implementing measures for each of these areas.

Most recently, we have revised our leave of absence system and developed guidelines to support employees in balancing illness treatment and work, and we have also expanded our external mental health counseling services that do not involve the company. In addition, we conducted training focused on menstruation and menopausal symptoms with the aim of promoting women's health and improving their health literacy. Furthermore, we are focusing on promoting work-life balance by fostering a corporate culture that makes it easy for employees to take paid leave, paternity leave and childcare leave.

These efforts were evaluated and our company was recognized as the "2026 Outstanding Organizations of KENKO Investment for Health (Large Corporation Category)" on March 9, 2026.

Improving employee well-being (a state of physical, mental, and social well-being) requires promoting physical and mental health and work-life balance. We will continue to position “promoting work–life balance” as a key management strategy and the company and employees will work together to strengthen the systems for promoting health management.
